We had previously produced a kitchen for another member of the family. Bellman and Rita had a good idea of the style of kitchen that they wanted and the budget was fixed. We originally worked on a traditional in-frame kitchen design with tulip wood faces and door frames, however this style together with the spec of worktops and appliances took us over budget. So it was back to the drawing board. We removed the face frames and went with a hand painted shaker style door. This gave a more modern looking kitchen but also kept some of the traditional elements of a country kitchen. The space was long and narrow which resulted in a shallow depth island, but the three elements set out provided ample work surface and food storage along with housing for all the appliances.

Materials: Birch ply / Tulip wood / Dark oak / White reconstituted stone
